Rumors in the NFLÂ
Headlines everywhere are talking about NFL trade rumors. Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers have each reached out to the New Orleans Saints about the availability of the star and beloved receiver Chris Olave. The Saints have rejected both teams’ advances and picked up Olave’s fifth-year option, keeping him under contract for 2 more seasons.

Both of these teams could use some help at wide receiver. The Browns were looking for a strong WR2 to pair with Jerry Jeudy, while the Steelers needed to replace the now Dallas Cowboy, George Pickens. Pittsburgh has since acquired DK Metcalf, but only after their valiant attempt at the Saints stand-out.
New Orleans has no interest in Trading Olave.
They view him as a cornerstone for their offense, especially as they transition to a new coaching staff and look for their next quarterback.
Olave, a former first-round pick, posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons before injuries limited him in 2024. Despite his concussion history, he remains a top target for New Orleans and is likely to continue to be in this upcoming season.
Why the Trade Didn’t Happen.
The New Orleans Saints value Olave highly. They quickly turned down both trade inquiries and exercised his fifth-year option. Showing their commitment to him as a key part of their offense. Reports suggest it would take a significant offer to pry Olave away, and he is not considered available on the trade market.
As Now for the Browns and Steelers?
The Browns will have to rely on Jeudy, Cedric Tillman, and new addition Diontae Johnson to lead their receiver group. The Steelers will move forward with DK Metcalf as their top option inthe receiving position. Both teams remain active in seeking ways to strengthen their offenses, but no need to worry Saints’ fans, Chris Olave will not be joining an AFC North rival anytime in the forseable future.
